Finally Grand Prive are coming to the table and prepared to try to solve some issues that are apparent.
Here is a part of the Ecogra press release:
Pursuant to an independent and fair resolution of the issues involved, eCOGRA has been tasked with:
- Independently investigating the manner in which the Program was terminated and the reasons therefore; subsequently compiling a full and transparent report.
- Gathering and verifying claims by any affiliate that considers an amount still to be owing by the Program as a result of player wagering activity subsequent to 1 December 2008; and
- Carrying out a full and independent review by suitably qualified staff of the program software and data to confirm amounts owing to claimants at 21 December 2009.
eCOGRA is open to all submissions concerning the closure and payments owed, and urges affiliate watchdog organisations in receipt of this email to assist it in order to ensure that respective affiliate members are informed of this opportunity to submit legitimate claims.
Claims can be submitted prior to 21 December 2009 at http://www.ecogra.org/grandprive.aspx. Former Grand Privé affiliates who believe they have a legitimate and verifiable claim will be asked to complete the Claim Submission Form that they will find on this link.
We are reporting this to our members because of the possibility that many may be entitled to some financial compensation. This no way effects the result of the GAU poll regarding Grand Prive and we will be monitoring the situation very closely, revisiting the poll if this is required by any member.
We feel obliged to mention that, although Grand Prive appear to be prepared to compensate affiliates that still feel they are owed money, this exercise by the two parties will not conclude in lifetime commissions being paid and lifetime commissions were originally offered.
Although outstanding monies may now be paid, is this enough?
Should the affiliate community accept the pay off and allow Grand Prive the luxury of being able to trade without the bad publicity that is currently circulating?
Should we cut our losses and accept that a program can close, pay up to date and be free to trade without affiliates even though they originally offered lifetime commissions?
Will this set a precedence that is bad for the affiliate community?
Would Grand Prive paying up to date but not lifetime commissions be enough?
